| Description: |
The community is located 85km from Alice Springs by road and it takes 1.5 hours to drive there. By air, it takes 5 minutes to drive to the closest airstrip in the community then 25 minutes to fly to Alice Springs. The access road to the community consists of 15 km of sealed road from Alice Springs to the Airport then 68 km of wide, unsealed road, some 10-15 kilometres of which is gravel. This road is passable for conventional vehicles at most times. A few creek crossings make the road impassable in fairly extreme wet conditions. The road is often quite rough with corrugations and sand and "bulldust" patches are not uncommon. |
