The community is the main settlement on Milingimbi Island which forms part of the Crocodile Island Group, located approximately half a km off the north coast of Central Arnhem Land in the Arafura Sea. Milingimbi is approximately 440 km east of Darwin and 206 km west of Nhulunbuy. Apart from the weekly freight barge service from Darwin, Milingimbi is generally accessed by air. Milingimbi has a sealed, all weather air strip. Travel time to Darwin: 2-3hrs, to Nhulunbuy: 45 mins-1hr. |
